Are You Embarrassed By Your Guest Bathroom?

Are you embarrassed by your guest bathroom2Many of us have a room in our house that we just don’t like to think about. To be honest, it’s a room that doesn’t get a lot of respect. It’s there, and it’s necessary, but we really don’t pay much attention to it—until our guests go in there. And there’s the problem. It’s probably the one room in the house that more guests see than any other room (except maybe the kitchen). It’s the guest bathroom. Sometimes we’re even a little bit embarrassed by this unadorned room and wish we could hang a “closed” sign on the door and forget about it.

But ignoring your guest bathroom isn’t going to make it any better. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a room that intrigues and interests guests—instead of one where they count the cracks in the tile and watch the faucet drip?

Who said guest bathrooms had to be boring? What’s great about your guest bathroom is that it’s probably the one room in your house where you can experiment and bring in design elements that might be “over-the-top” in the rest of your home. You can get creative and create a little oasis for your guests.

Of course, beautiful, creative rooms like this don’t just happen. They take some thought, some planning, and some creative design to turn what’s often a very small space into a room people actually enjoy spending time in. That’s one of the advantages of the design-build approach when remodeling your home in the Potomac, Travilah, Gaithersburg or Darnestown area. Using the same team to design and remodel your guest bath ensures that the ideas your come up with will actually turn out the way you want them to.
